NYC, There's Something About You..

Hello Lovelies,
Sorry it has been ages since we've been online! We don't want to make excuses... But, school has been crazy! We have had massive amounts of work, Projects, SATs, etc. Speaking of the SAT, we all know what that means:
College is just around the corner... Shit.
So this spring break has been devoted to college trips.
Luckily, we were able to meet up in our favorite city... NYC!
We are both staying in the SoHo area, so we had a little adventure today.
We started off this morning with a tour of NYU.
Naturally, we fell in love!

The campus is located right in the middle of Greenwich Village

This area is known as the quad for NYU, otherwise known as Washington Square.
We can't think of a better quad than one right in the heart of NYC!
Of course, we had to buy some NYU Merch. Our cute tour guide gave us a 10% coupon ;)
We had bit of fun in the hotel room... lol.

Knowing us we couldn't resist making fun of the supersize sweatshirts (we thought we bought a size small... oops?!) If you can't tell we are trying to fly...:/
Then we decided to pop in for a quick lunch at the Mercer Kitchen. It was in the basement of our hotel.
It was super yummy! We loved the warm and relaxed atmosphere of this trendy restaurant.
Salmon on top of crispy rice. To die...

Crispy calamari... the best.
A pizza to share!
Feeling full, we decided to walk off our lunch. We explored SoHo and then made our way to our favorite workout place... Soul Cycle <3 <3 <3 (We will do a post on this soon... just a little bit obsessed!)
It was fun to see such a familiar sight in a different city!
Soul Cycle NoHo!
During our exploration, we came across some cool street art, of course had to take a pic.
After feeling exhausted from our adventure through the concrete jungle, we decided to crash back at our hotel, with Georgetown Cupcakes in hand!
YUMMMMMMMM
We ordered some tea (being the true Brits we are) and caught up on the latest Carrie Diaries!
Our ideal afternoon.

As you can tell, Elizabeth likes her tea just a little bit weak....

That's all for now! We are off to dinner and we will update you all soon... promise!
Cheers xoxo,

A Quick Little Trip

Luckily for Elizabeth and I, we had a four day weekend. That's right. Four days to ourselves... Except not. We go to a very demanding school, in which our teachers see the words "four day weekend" as an invitation to assign numerous projects and tests all due Tuesday..... It wasn't all sadness though, I had lovely plans for the weekend. My little brother and dad all took a trip to Mammoth. All three of us love to ski, and make it a priority to ski at least once a year; so this week was our opportunity :) We got up early Friday morning and headed for LAX. We sat on the plane, and awaited the hugely dreaded take off (I hate flying...)  As we rose higher and higher  into the atmosphere and flew closer and closer toward mammoth the views became well worth it.

(This has NO editing.. isn't it stunning?)

It seemed as soon as we were up, we were down. We landed in the most beautiful airport I have ever seen. Well, the airport wasn't lovely, its surroundings were. Picturesque mountains surround me, and it was surprisingly warm! We grabbed our bags, jumped in a cab, and made our way to the hotel. When we arrived in the hotel we were greeted with hot chocolate and skis. Only one thing was between my family and i and the slopes, we quickly changed and ran (well.. hobbled) to the ski lift. We spent all afternoon racing down the slopes and trying not to fall over (we have a tradition that the first person to fall each day has to do a forfeit.)

After our tiring afternoon we retreated back to our hotel room, ate and feel asleep. I dreamt of snowy mountains and hot chocolate, however my reality the next morning was very different from my dreams...... I woke up the next morning with the most horrible cold I have every had. My dad insisted I stay in the hotel and rest up, and thats exactly what I did. While my dad and brother were having fun, I slept. My cold got progressively worse and so my dad decided we should leave and go home as soon as possible. I felt awful! I didn't want to make the trip a bust for my dad a brother. My little brother came round to the idea of leaving once he found out he could get a new toy if he was a good boy about leaving. So the next morning (Sunday) we woke up, my dad and brother hit the slopes for one last ski and i packed. We left the hotel, went to the airport and flew home.

I arrived home, watched "Sweeney Todd" with my dad and hit the bed. I remained there until 3 o'clock this afternoon! I feel a lot better already.. there is nothing worse than being ill away from home.
That's all!
Cheers xoxo,

Le Déjeuner Du Dimanche

Bouchon Bistro has to be one of my favorite french restaurants in all of LA. From the beautiful high ceilings in the dining room to the delicious food, it truly is a wonderful restaurant. It was a lovely day in 90210: with the weather being in the upper 60's and the sun shining. Since Kitty had jetted off to Mammoth to ski, I had to treat myself in some way!

Citizen's Jeans, Topshop top and blazer, Steven Madden boots, and a Chloé Bag
The perfect outfit for such a gorgeous day.
As you walk up the stairs and down the corridor, you feel as if you are being transported into London or New York City. The decor of the restaurant is amazing and the whole setting is quite picturesque. It truly does not feel like you are in Los Angeles anymore. It is quite refreshing actually. The sun's beams peaked into the main room through the beautiful french doors, which were open on a day like today, letting in a lovely breeze.

The entrance into the Dining Room
Now onto the food: which is to DIE for. The menu is quite classically french. On Sunday's, they serve the brunch menu all day, but we chose to stick with the regular lunch menu. My personal favorite is the Steak Frites. Though pricey, the filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the french fries... don't even get me started.
Le Steak Frites pour moi!

My sister had the Quiche Lorraine. The whole quiche was so light and fluffy, it is definitely my second favorite thing on the menu. The dish is completed with some greens in a light vinaigrette (a little bit more of a healthy selection than mine!).
Is your mouth watering yet?
A little bit of "pain" on the side!
To end the amazing lunch, in a perfectly French way, we ordered "les petits macaroons". As they have a bakery downstairs, all their desserts are made fresh. I apologize for this picture being a little blurry, I couldn't wait to tuck in!
Earl Grey, Raspberry, Pistachio, Coffee

Once again, though expensive, this restaurant is such a classic. It is perfect for special occasions with family and friends. One of my favorites!

Happy S.A.D!

Happy S.A.D everyone!
For those of you who don't know what S.A.D (or for those of you who are in a relationship) it is Singles Awareness Day, otherwise known as Valentine's Day. I can imagine this day to be the best one of the year if you are in a relationship but for the some of us who aren't... I'd say it's one of the worst. From the overpriced flowers and chocolate to the lovey dovey couples walking down the street, this day is rough. It feels as if every where you walk there are two people making out. So, when you are a single gals like us, you have to find something to occupy your day with.

My day (Kitty):
I am writing to you all from my bed. Yes. I know. Very sad. I am currently in a onesie, no make up, hair back with a box of tissues very near by. I have been watching "The Vow", which is my go to movie when I want to feel sorry for myself. Every year I think to myself, maybe next year I will have a date to go hang out with or I will have a box of chocolates waiting for me on my bed. However, Every year my date ends up being either my parents, or a bar of Cadbury's Chocolate. I guess you could say valentines is my least favourite holiday... Luckily for me, to off set this tragic holiday, I am going skiing tomorrow with my dad and little brother. It should be an adventure at the very least. Thats all for now, I have to get back to Channing, I don't want to miss him declaring his love to a woman that isn't me....
Colonel dib Dab (he is my date for tonight)
My stained glass piece (Thought I should show you.. I don't know why..)
My beautiful Valentine's Day Dinner

Now for my day (Elizabeth):
It is really isn't that much more exciting than Kitty's. I woke up sick... now I'm not sure if it was because of the Cold going around or because of this holiday... moving on. I rallied and got up for school where there was a rose sale. Unfortunately, I did not receive any roses from secret admirers professing their love to me... maybe next year? Afterwards, I headed over to my friend's house (Kitty skipped out on this being the antisocial child she is). We baked a cake and then ate away our sorrows. I then drove home. Now another thing I hate about this day: there was A TON of traffic. While sitting in it, I spent some time with my iPod blasting Ed Sheeran. I may or may not have started crying at one point... Tragically, instead of jetting off and going skiing this weekend, I have to attend my cousin's wedding, which will only further my single depression... Great.
My V-Day Cake
The only man in my life <3
Little Things that help you get through the day :)

Anyways, I think we have made it pretty evident that if you are single on this Godforsaken day it really does suck. But for those of you in a relationship, we do hope you are having an amazing day (but we still hate you).
Cheers xoxo,

So I Guess This is Hello?

Hello there,
It feels good to have our own little piece of the net. We have never done this before, so we are a bit nervous! I guess we should jump in and introduce ourselves, our names are Kitty and Elizabeth. We both go to school in Los Angeles but have British heritage. I (Kitty) moved to LA just a little over two years ago, from a small village on the outside of Bath. I guess you can say it's very, very, very different. And I (Elizabeth) have lived in LA all my life: born and raised. But, my mother is from Essex, England and I have a citizenship there as well. You could say our friendship was meant to be... the Brits stick together. Hence our name, "The Brit.Ish Life", we are both British but only ish because we live in LA, get it? We know we are hilarious.
Now that we have the introductions done with, here are a few things you should know about us:
We love to bake
We travel a lot
We are obsessed with clothes
We are IN LOVE with One Direction (in love is an understatement)
Kitty is an actress
Lizzi is a photographer
Other than that, there isn't much else to say...
We guess our first blog post is already done! We are no longer blogger virgins! Lets the games begin... This should be fun ;)
Cheers xoxo,
Kitty and Elizabeth
